Laowin: So my first question is how did your team get started?
LzH DeJester : I was posting on forums and asking friends to ask their friends for all roles initially. I found Ted through team Kill Stealers (KS) I noticed that he was a great jungler and if he ever was to leave I would be more than happy to try him out, and his tryout was great and lzh ted stickles was picked up. Then I found LzH Slushy on the solo-que ladder we played 4 games back-to-back-to-back-to-back together and we both carried really hard, so I added him since he played AP carry ever game and I played AD carry and it started off like that, the tryout was offered and accepted, then confirmed through continuous good decisions and game play, so LzH Slushy came to be.
LzH Telandra was very close to the same story as LzH Slushy but it was over 3 games and I asked him his main role he said AD carry, I told him I main that as well, but then he stated that his second role was TOP lane in the current meta which would fill another empty spot for the Lzuruha Gaming.LoL team, then tryouts were completed in a great manner, then became LzH Telandra. Lastly, At0mic was picked up playing in solo-que as well, although his main was AP carry I told him that Slushy was our main AP carry and if he could adapt into the support role then we would have our starting 5 and bet set pending the tryouts. The tryouts went well for A0mitc and he became LzH At0mic, and the is how Lzuruha Gaming.LoL came to be.
Laowin: So when did you guys move into competitive play and what was your first tournament like?
LzH DeJester : We jumped right into the top 2 tier team scrimming teams like 4NOT, Jpak, Platoons Supreme Platoon...etc. and handling ourselves rather well since we were only a 1 week old team scrimming those teams and winning 40% of them or so. The first tournament that we played in was a Go4LoL which ended in a tie for 3rd place since the 3rd place match is never played. It was a great experience for our new team that had great potential.
Laowin: Since then how have tournaments gone since then and what do you think your biggest accomplishment as a team has been?
LzH DeJester : Smaller tournaments that top tier teams are not invited we are usually placing 1st place which we really don't advertise. We have attended 3 LAN events now and have won all 3 of them which were great learning experiences for the team as a whole in that different environment. The bigger tournaments which are the top 16 teams in the N.A. that we are regularly being invited to we usually finish within the top 8 but then fall to different teams.
The most recent one was a loss to mTw.N.A. in the GG Classic. The next big tournament we are invited into was the Curse Invitational which only top 16 teams in both N.A. and Europe to compete for $ 20,000.00 USD which our team has been in hard core practice mode for that tournament. Our biggest single accomplishment was beating teams such as Curse, Epik Gamer, Reflx, Team Dynamic, Complexity, 4Not, mTw.N.A and EHOME.
Laowin: So how have your first few Premier matches gone?
LzH Telandra: Well, so far we're 3-0 in our division and it's going well. The first few matches went well, not losing a single game in each best of three. Archon Gamers was a strong team and we used to have trouble against them when we were still new, but now that we've become more experienced them as well as the teams we've faced in Premier league haven't been that difficult. I"m sure however our next match is going to be great against v8 eSports who we've met a few times before.
Laowin: Knowing that you have beaten teams like Curse and Team Dynamic.LoL do you feel that you can confidently compete at the highest level of play and do you see your team making it into next seasons EPS league?
LzH Telandra: Yes I know as a team we believe that we can compete at the highest level of play. Even though we've only been a team around two months now, we've grown together as a team that can consistently trade games with most of the top teams out there right now. We are confident that we will be in the next EPS season. I'm sure it wont be long before everyone starts to hear more about us this year in big events
Laowin: Looking at the teams in the Premier League are there any teams that your watching out for or looking forward to competing against?
LzH Telandra: Within our division, not particularly. Ordinance Gaming just picked up some new players including PhantomL0rd so that could potentially become a team to reckon with, but we're not worried yet. Outside of our division, we're looking forward to matches against Team Dynamic.LoL, Team Green Forest, and can't wait to take games off of oRbit.
Laowin: Cool so that's about it anything you guys would like to say to NESL community on behalf of Lzuruha Gaming.LoL?
LzH Telandra: Yeah, we definitely want to thank you guys for giving us the opportunity to have this interview, as well as all the great tournaments hosted that have allowed us to practice and gain experience playing against all kinds of teams. I also want to give shout out's to our sponsors, SteelSeries, MaxFrag, and EO Reality, they've all been great for us. I hope everyone can come check our Lzuruha's website at www.mylzh.net and take a look around for future upcoming events we host with our sponsors. Lastly, I'd like to mention our new partnership with Twitch.tv and that we will all be streaming actively there.
